TIIS is a non-governmental, non-profit making and self-sustaining organization founded in 1965 and recognized by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare as a juridical incorporation, to help reduce industrial accidents and contribute towards the benefits of industrial sectors in Japan through its various technological activities. TIIS was accredited to ISO 9002 in October,1999, and now operates a Quality Management System complying with the requirements of: ISO 9001:2000/ JIS Q 9001:2000 The Headquarters of TIIS is located at Sayama City in Saitama Prefecture ,and carries out test/certification of specific equipment, such as ex-apparatus, safety helmets, press machines and gas masks, as well as testing and evaluation of explosibility of chemicals and mechanical hazards. TIIS also has an office in Tokyo for customer service, and in Osaka so as to extend its activities to the Kansai district.
